Welcome and About Me

Welcome. I invite you to grab a cup of coffee, tea or the beverage of your choice, sit by the fire, on the open deck or by the pool and go with me on a journey of discovery, insight, and perhaps even knowledge as I explore the world of public policy, viewpoints and events in my hometown of Sanford, NC.

Actually I’ve only lived in Sanford for eight years, but I feel as if it was the hometown I never had. You see I have been traveling other roads for the past 30 years in the military and such and never really felt “at home” until I came here.

From time to time as we wander the streets and by ways I may take a side road to explore other topics that interest me; politics, money, computers, relationships and who knows what else. Think of this site as a chautauqua, “walk about”, some version of On the Road or perhaps even an ashram.

In any case your thoughts and comments are welcome along with your insight and experience. I am new to blogging so forgive me for obvious errors. I’m still trying to figure out what all the features of this blog do and why I should even care.

Enter if you seek knowledge, understanding that you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.  As they say, “When you want water, go to the well.” Join me then in a sip or two from the well.

Your tour guide,

Alan
